DO YOU KNOW WHAT PROP 1 IS?

CLICK HERE TO WATCH THIS INFORMATIVE VIDEO-->EMPIRE STATE OF EMERGENCY

A dangerous amendment—Prop One—threatens to radically reshape New York’s state constitution, stripping parents of their God-given rights, jeopardizing the safety of women and children, and erasing protections for the unborn.

As a parent, nothing matters more than protecting your children—but under Prop One, the state could soon have more say over your child’s life than you do.

Disguised as “equality,” Prop One is a direct threat to families and women. This isn’t merely about politics—it’s about protecting New York parents and children from harmful government intervention.

If passed, Prop One could:

  • Allow minors to undergo irreversible medical proceduresincluding late-term abortions and gender-altering surgeries, without your knowledge or consent.

  • Erase protections for girls’ sports, forcing schools to let biological males compete in female sports, jeopardizing fairness and safety for our daughters.

  • Empower schools to hide life-altering information from parents, keeping you in the dark about your child’s struggles or decisions that could permanently devastate their lives.

  • Enshrine late-term abortion in the state constitution, blocking all protections for women and their children and putting vulnerable lives at risk.

RIGHT TO LIFE NOVENA

The month of October is dedictated to the Right for Life.  The 2024 Respect Life Novena will take place from October 22–30. The novena is an annual event organized by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops that asks Catholics to pray for the protection of human life. This novena prays for the protection of human life, from conception to natural death. Each day of the novena features a different prayer intention, as well as a short reflection, suggested actions, and additional information to help participants go deeper.

Please join us each of the 9 days during this time period for prayer.  To receive the prayers for each day, please visit:  https://www.usccb.org/respect-life-novena

UPDATE - ROC CATHOLICS NORTHWEST

The Charlotte/Greece/Hilton Pastoral Planning Task Force met on August 27.  Work continued on preparing a recommendation for the Bishop.  The central component of the recommendation will be the wisdom of the 7 parishes regarding how we can best handle what we anticipate may be coming because of a lack of sufficient number of priests/pastoral leaders.  That situation (a trigger event leading to a change) could arise with priest retirements, health issues, or needs elsewhere in the diocese.  The draft recommendation includes the possible future parish groupings which make the most sense to us if/when there is future clustering.  The draft also mentions additional appointments of Pastoral Administrators to lead parishes in our area as another viable option for the future.

This recommendation to the Bishop will not be finalized before Pastoral Councils and Finance Councils contribute their input on 10/15 and Parishioners do the same on 11/20.

The complete task force minutes are available on the Roc Catholics Northwest website:  ROC Catholics Northwest or https://www.roccatholicsnorthwest.org
